One man’s junk can be another man’s treasure, and it has been said. To this day, I still wonder why people purchase junk at other places, particularly at car boot sales. Our goal is to profit from the car boot sales situation, not to understand why. You have two options to make money. One is to sell your stock and wonder why anyone would buy it from you. Two is to buy the store you can privately sell on Amazon or eBay. In this article, I’ll cover both of these options.
BECOME A SELLER
Car booters are people who sell items out of their car boots. After a clearout, they usually sell items from their home. To get a great price, some people buy stock in bulk from different places. You will need a car, a fold-away table, some carrier bags, and coins to make a sale (or booter). Car Boot Sales are advertised in local newspapers and online if you search for “Car Boot Sales Manchester.”
You don’t need to make a reservation for a pitch. Just show up. There will be someone there to show you where to park and how to set up your table. The pitch fee will be charged to you at the beginning of the day. Unless you leave early, most places will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
It is crucial to present yourself and your stock well. As you want to grab the attention of passers-by, take some time to arrange your inventory on your table. As many people love to rummage through general Bric a brac, it is a great idea to keep boxes of general bric a brac on hand. So that the customer has lots of options, it is essential to display a wide range of items.
Booters do not usually list prices on their stock. It is generally assumed that the customer will ask for the price, and then you will reply with your first offer. Customers love to bargain over the price. You should determine how much you’re willing to sell the item and still make a profit. You can sell it as low as you want if it is an item that you have not been able to sell after several boot sales.
Be aware that not all customers will be pleasant. There will be people who are a bit cheeky and offer little. Politely decline their offers and tell them that you cannot sell the item for less than the lowest price. They quickly give up, and you are able to sell the item to a more generous buyer.
BECOME A BUYER
Summer is a great time to visit car boot sales. It’s thrilling to walk down an aisle of cars with untold treasures in the hopes of finding that one unique item. Many sellers, or car booters, are selling items after having a clear-out at their home. They are willing to sell it for a meager cost so that they don’t have it back. Movies and ornaments can be purchased for as low as 50p. Retro computers and games can also be bought for bargain prices. A car boot sale can be used to buy almost anything. Even things that have been in storage for years and are now valuable to collectors.
You can sell personal items by browsing online marketplaces like Amazon and eBay to find the right kind of products. You should get an idea of what the things are worth and how much they cost. Then, you can set a price limit for the item. It’s a bright idea to create a list of things you want and then put a top price.
Remember that casual car booters want to get rid of as much as they can, even though it costs them about PS10-PS15 per pitch. Ask them questions such as “Will you pay me a fair price for these books if ten of them are taken?” You could offer ten books for eight pounds if they were each a pound. They are likely to agree, as they are making eight pounds in one day. This is something they might not have done if they sold the books separately.
Car boot sales are profitable regardless of whether you’re a buyer or seller. People will purchase anything even if it is in poor condition as long as the cost is reasonable. You can pick up items cheaply and have them cleaned up and repaired before selling them elsewhere.
