Don't Let Seasonal Affective Disorder Slow Your Business Down

Seasonal Affective Disorder and the slowness of small-business owners at this period of time is a deadly combination. The majority of regions in the United States just turned their clocks one hour back. However, a lot of you still leave to work in darkness and returning home at night when it’s dark. You are working all day in your office, with artificial light and even artificial people. When you come home, you’re tired and do not want to work at your job. Do you have a similar feeling? It could also be a sign of the slow season that provides no reason to switch on your computer.

This state of mind you’re in is quite frequent. A lot of people every year suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). It’s possible that you don’t have the exact diagnosis, but you’re aware that you must work to motivate yourself so that you don’t end up becoming a couch potato. Seasonal Affective Disorder is reported around the same time every year and is finished in the same manner each year. It requires a deliberate effort to beat SAD. In addition, the burden of SAD can be the reality that it might be your slow season. The slow season is a time of low income in a season when there are multiple gift-giving holidays, more expensive heating bills, and clients who make payments late.

Depression and SAD can wreak the psyche of a person. It’s tempting to go to the kitchen or alcohol to soothe your soul. I warn you against this. Here are some strategies to keep you on track and at a high level throughout the festive season.

How to stay positive when You’d rather be Grumpy Grump

1. Review Your Diet:

This is the time of year when that we enjoy baking with high sugar and carb-laced desserts. Be sure to choose healthy, fresh food items which are low on calories and sugar-free, and free of chemicals or ingredients you don’t know. This will allow you to avoid the crash of carbs or sugar, which can occur when you indulge your body with these sweets. Additionally, any weight gain will only prolong your downward slide.

2. Exercise:

Do your exercise until you feel your heart rate up. That means you’ll be sweating. If you’re not willing to purchase gym memberships, just take your sneakers off and walk. If you aren’t a fan of the adverse effects of breathing cold air, then put on a jacket and run a short the same distance. It is possible to join a gym starting at just $10 per month. Make sure you invest in high-quality walking or running shoes to keep your heart rate up. It’s easy to make excuses. However, the time you spend sitting on the couch, snacking on potato chips or cookies could be utilized to walk, run, or use an elliptical. Don’t make excuses anymore and set aside time for exercise.

3. Take Your Vitamin D

I have read somewhere that the majority of us have a deficiency in Vitamin D because we wear products that contain sunscreen. We’re all concerned about avoiding the risk of skin cancer, so we’re not allowing a normal absorption process by Vitamin D. It is. I would recommend taking your Vitamin D levels tested the next time you check. If you don’t really want to go out in the cold and sunny weather, I suggest you go to the tanning bed. The bright lighting, warm and cozy, and without interruption from the phone’s buzz will make you feel better. Additionally, seeing yourself naked can assist you in keeping on track by focusing on item 1.

4. Plan for your busy Season.

Take advantage of this time of quiet and develop your business and marketing strategies for the coming year. This is the perfect time to schedule a one-on-one session with your coach or for a meet-up offsite with participants in Your Mastermind Group. We are grateful that you have the opportunity to concentrate on yourself along with your work.

5. Create passive income:

Make use of your free time to stimulate your creativity. Design a product that can include in the passive stream of income. Create deadlines for you and your team to finish your product. Put money into coaching and ensure that the Mastermind Group members hold you accountable.

6. Meet people:

This new free time is an excellent incentive to plan a trip. Take a trip to a warmer place. Take a daring adventure. You should, at a minimum, go through your Rolodex and then call an old friend to set up a meeting on a weekend or all night on the phone, catching the latest on what one has been up to. Don’t sit at home and feel sorry for yourself.

7. Volunteer:

I discovered from a long period of time ago there is always somebody prettier, slimmer, better educated, and more wealthy than me. But, there are those who are less fortunate. Make an effort to volunteer in your local area or online. Look for an association that is aligned with your values and your interests, and then give them a call. They probably need volunteers.

8. Relax and enjoy the silence:

Take this time to connect with yourself. Go through the books you’ve put on top of each other. You can watch a few hours of mindless television and munch on your favorite food. Reflect on the things you have done to help other people. Write down the things you’ve accomplished in your life. I’m betting your list will surprise you. Take a look at what you’d like to achieve before you die and create an updated bucket list. Take the time to study the cost of things on your list and devise a plan to transform your dreams into reality.

9. Put $100 in Your wallet:

Visit the bank and pick up the crisp $100 note. Keep this money inside your wallet so that you’ll see it every when you go to your purse. The sight of this bill will inspire you. You’ll know that you have it in the event you require it. You’ll see that it’s not intended to be used to pay for a bill and is actually yours. You’ll feel confident and satisfied with this fresh $100 in your account.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) can affect a large number of people throughout the year. Every business experiences an unproductive season. If you’re a first business owner of your own, don’t be afraid to admit that things have slowed. Examine your marketing and marketing strategy, increase your online presence, and welcome the slowness of the time of year. A well-informed business owner knows and plans for the slow season. My suggestions in the previous nine paragraphs will help you embrace the slowness of this season and face Seasonal Affective Disorder without turning into uneasy. Remember, SAD and depression could turn into grave medical emergencies. You should seek help from a doctor when you think of self-harming or are unable to shake off the negative mood. You should at least call you or your coach for assistance as well.
